Reset the SMC settings to see if this will help to rewire the fans and reduce the noise.

#SMC FAN CONTROL MACBOOK PRO 2011 DRIVER#
This driver is responsible for the hardware such as - you guessed it - fans, also motherboard, and processor. I suspect it is a hardware problem and I'm three quarters tempted to schedule a rendezvous with the Apple Store but if you have anything else I could try I'm all ears. SMC, or System Management Controller, is an extra control station put into your laptop by Apple. 9 - The installation will be all done in Safe Mode. 8 - Open App Store and download SecUpdate or download. 7 - Macbook Pro 2011 boot in Safe Mode without press any key. These artifacts do not appear when I boot in normal mode. 6 - Reboot Macbook Pro 2011 with reboot command. I did a screen capture with Quicktime but strangely enough the visual artifacts were not present. When I started in Safe Boot mode, there were some visual artifacts in the form of horizontal bars going across the screen. Some things that could help diagnose the problem: The only way I can silent the fans is to override the Mac's native fan control system and turn it down, but then I'd probably be damaging the internal components. So I suggest running SMC fan control at the highest setting and it wont get ridiculous.

I was worried about the same thing, my only problem is that it does run a little hot if you have temperature monitor you will see.

These are the temperature readings outputted by tg Pro on my machine. Hey man, I have the mid 2012 MacBook pro with exact same specs. Setting the fan speed manually with an app called tg Pro.I have a 13-inch MacBook Pro from early 2011, with custom SSD & Memory upgrade.įor the last few months, the fan has been running at max speed or close to it.
